The employees at HSC are a unique group of dedicated healthcare professionals. They provide outstanding care for our most vulnerable patient population. The Employee Engagement team creates special events to show the Hospital's appreciation. A volunteer is needed to join the Employee Engagement committee. The impact, that you'll be a part of, is energizing our employees.
Students studying Human Resources or others seeking health care management experience, as well as corporate retirees, are welcome candidates.
Skills: enthusiasm, team player, computer: Word and power point; creativity: bulletin boards; take minutes at meetings, help with events as able, share ideas.
Time commitment: meetings: once a month, at lunchtime at the Hospital: 45 minutes. Can also work remotely on the computer tasks for one year. Help with events as able.
Events: Employee Appreciation luncheon and Service Awards (for years worked).
Value: you bring the volunteer perspective, we welcome new ideas to recognize employees, you bring energy and enthusiasm to enrich the committee (comprised of positive, motivated, supportive employees).

Description
Hospital for Special Care is a private, not-for-profit, 228 bed Long-Term, Acute-Care hospital licensed by the state of CT. as a chronic disease hospital. The hospital is renowned for its expertise in physical rehabilitation, respiratory care and medically-complex pediatrics. In addition, special programs are available in the treatment of spinal cord injuries and illness, acquired brain injuries, strokes and breathing disorders.
We also provide a full range of outpatient services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, rehabilitation evaluation, neuropsychology and pulmonary rehabilitation programs. The hospital also includes a 27,000 foot Aquatic Rehabilitation Center, which completes the full spectrum of rehabilitation and community fitness activities offered.
We also have a 28 bed satellite facility located within Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT. The satellite serves patients who are medically or surgically complex and/or require specialized care.
