  • Are you passionate about film editing? Do you know how to use Final Cut Pro?
  • Golden Gate Oprea is seeking a marketing volunteer who enjoys creating film clips.
  • Final Cut Pro can cut a video into a short clip.Maybe you know of a different program you use?
  • Your volunteering will enable us to send these beautiful samples of our Gift to the community to our sponsors, helping achieve vital grants to fund our progtrams.
  • Recently our emerging artists performed for an audience of seniors, and several of them praised Golden Gate Opera, saying "I will remember this for the rest of my life."
  • A simple I-phone filmed their hearfelt comments, and also samples of the rising young opera stars.
  • Will you be the person to finish these short film clips so they tell the story?
  • Example: start the video after my phone was aimed at my shoe. Your talent makes it possible for Golden Gate Opera to share magic moments withour sponsors.
GGO'S programs inspire Seniors in Residential Communities and young people in schools.

  1. Help STOP BULLYING IN SCHOOLS. "The Boy Who Grew Too Fast." (elementary and middle schools)
  2. Encourage continued effort toward racial equality via: "EMANCIPATION: Lincoln's African American Connections." ( high schools and colleges)
  3. Help Teens stay out of Jail with: "Bounce! The Basketball Opera."

Mission Statement

Golden Gate Opera is dedicated to sharing the joys of the myriad of fine arts found in live professional opera with people of all ages, cultural and economic backgrounds to enrich lives. We inspire a better life, through first rate performances and educational programs. We develop careers for emerging professional talent - singers, designers, directors and conductors through performances in the theatre, Aria Parties in private homes, In-School programs, plus Field Trips to the opera for K-12 school student groups. We arrange for low-income groups and senior communities to experience this art form, especially where they can in no other way experience this than that we bring it to them.

Golden Gate Opera, (GGO) proudly celebrates its 28th Anniversary year in 2023, Transforming lives with Opera . Winner of National Endowment for the Arts and California Arts Council Grant Award, 2016 for premiere of "Lincoln-The African American Connection", 2017 -West Coast Premiere of Anti-Bullying one-act for children - Menotti's "The Boy Who Grew Too Fast". GGO professional singers collaborate with children choruses and Musica Marin chamber orchestra of musicians from SF Opera, SF Symphony and SF Ballet for glorious realization creating a better life for children. Volunteers help with auditions, marketing, refreshments, graphic design, greet audience and guests.
