ORGANIZATION: Taller San Jose Hope Builders

Purpose/objective:

  • The Career and Education Assistant will provide the Career and Education Coordinator with essential support on various related projects. The Career and Education Assistant will perform tasks that aid to the overall classroom experience for Hope Builders trainees.

Location:

  • 801 N. Broadway, Santa Ana, CA,92701

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of trainees during resume workshops
  • Assisting with class lessons
  • Grading and evaluating students work
  • Updating curriculum; general clerical work

Qualifications:

  • Classroom experience
  • Coursework in social work and/or education preferred
  • Bilingual English/ Spanish preferred

Time commitment:

  • Time commitment will be discussed (flexible)
  • Please be aware business hours are: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm

Training and support:

  • Orientation to Hope Builders
  • Introduction to cohorts
  • Ongoing supervision from Volunteer Coordinator
  • Additional help can be provided upon request

Hope Builders is a highly focused, goal oriented program that helps students develop into self-reliant adults through three key job-training programs in Healthcare, Business and Construction. These workforce training skills are coupled with intensive job coaching activities from resume writing to job retention strategies and is reinforced with life skills instruction in financial literacy, healthy relationships, and numerous other personal development topics.
