On Purpose Academy and Mentoring Center is an afterschool program for girls in Grades K -8th grade. Our mission is to match each girl with a mentor that can meet with them 1 to 2 times per month for 1 hour.
Mentoring is on site and does not require additional commitment outside of program hours.
Mentors can help the girls with homework, playing games, setting goals, discussing career opportunities etc.

Description
Since 2015, On Purpose Academy and Mentoring Center (OPAMC) has served students in grades K - 8th by providing enrichment activities such as art, Spanish, chess, dance and basic compute r coding. We started with only 15 girls who were matched with a female mentor in the community that met with them for 1 hour per week. Since that time, we have grown to over 50 girls participating in our program. Mentor volunteers are needed in order for us to achieve our mission.
One to One mentoring is the cornerstone of our organization but we also offer Group mentoring, guest speakers, tutoring and homework assistance.
