The Friends of Daggerwing Nature Center board of directors plays a proactive, strategic role in promoting and enhancing the programs and events at Daggerwing Nature Center. The nature center is located in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park and offers an array of programs, educational exhibits, live native animals, outdoor activities, and special events for visitors to learn about the native wildlife and ecology of south Florida.
We also operate a gift shop and maintain a certified butterfly garden onsite. We are looking for volunteer board and committee members in many areas, especially media communications, fundraising, financial planning, and program administration. We invite you to get acquainted with our organization and the nature center we support. Consider joining our nature-loving family.

To carry out charitable, scientific, and educational activities in support of Daggerwing Nature Center in the Center's mission to provide visitors and the surrounding community with educational and other program resources that will foster a deeper understanding of Florida's environmental resources.
Description
Friends of Daggerwing Nature Center Inc, (FOD) is a non-profit organization that provides financial, marketing, and program support for Daggerwing Nature Center. The volunteer board of FOD plays a proactive, strategic role in promoting and enhancing the programs and events at the nature center via fundraising, marketing efforts to generate awareness and interest in the nature center's offerings, support of special free events for the community to celebrate Earth Day and Hoot 'N' Howl at Halloween, and an array of other activities. We operate an onsite gift shop, maintain a certified butterfly garden, and recently awarded our first annual educational scholarship to a young, college-bound Daggerwing Nature Center volunteer. We are financially stable, growing, and initiating new projects in support of the nature center every year.
