ORGANIZATION: Berkeley Youth Alternatives

Drop-In Tutoring supports students in grades 6th-12th who come to BYA to focus on homework, receive tutoring services, and get all their questions answered. This is a Drop-In tutoring opportunity, where BYA and youth interested will work with your schedule during the times of Monday-Friday between 3:30-6pm.

Mission Statement

Berkeley Youth Alternatives (BYA) uses two strategies to help young people and their families to address problems: Prevention--reach young people before their problems become crises, and Intervention--provide support services to those who are entangled in the juvenile justice system.

Description

BYA-Has several different programs: Afterschool/Summer Jam Program k-6, Teen Center, Computer lab, Garden Patch, Crisis Counseling Program, Girls Twilite Basketball- Sports Program, RAVE(Rising Against Violent Element), Mentoring Program, Nutrition Education Program, and Career Development. These programs are provided to enrich the lives of the participants.
