Many opiate users are looking for a NEW approach to recovery. Regardless of your background (you don't need to have had substance problems), we will train you to lead a new type of recovery meeting where all types of substance users learn from each other and learn the science-based SMART Recovery tools for change. Join a group of 60 meetings each week in San Diego county. Typical time involvement about 2 hours per week. Help us keep people alive and get them back into leading purposeful and connected lives.
SMART Recovery is looking for volunteers to host or facilitate one meeting a week at various locations throughout San Diego County. Training will be provided through a mentorship program (hosts and facilitators) and online course (facilitators). Commitment will be 1 to 2 hours including prep time per meeting per week. We are asking for a minimum of a three month commitment following training.
SMART Recovery is a self-empowering alternative to traditional 12-step approaches intended to help individuals gain independence from addictive substances and/or behaviors.
