Volunteers will assist in shooting educational videos for the web. Training will be done on the job, and primarily involves camera work, with a secondary focus on other aspects of setting up and shooting. This position is also available as a internship.
Required Skills
- Education or experience in film and video production or multimedia journalism
- A familiarity with using and handling prosumer or pro level cameras
- Solid data management and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for long stretches at a time, sometimes several hours
- Ability to hold weights up to 15 lbs for long stretches of time
- Ability to be moving constantly
- Ability to climb ladders
- Able to get dirty without problem
- Able to sometimes be in enclosed or dark places
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to take directions from a supervisor
- Ability to work on a team
Training
Training happens during your shifts.
Schedule
Shifts are based on the needs of the A/V department from week-to-week. Shoot times are generally scheduled between 12pm-6pm, M-Sat. A notice will be sent out regarding available shifts each week, and you will be able to respond if you are available to show up. Shifts are a minimum of two hours, and actual commitment can vary case-to-case.
Age requirements
Minimum 16 years old. Most suitable for highschool and college students looking to get initial experience in the film/video field.
