ORGANIZATION: The National Science Institute

Volunteers will assist the A/V Department with the post-production process by processing, organizing, and performing certain editing of footage. Applicants will participate in a training to learn what the volunteer position will require. This allows the A/V department to ascertain your skills and how they will fit. This will also serve as a chance for you to experience the kind of work you would be doing, and to make sure the position would be a good fit for you. This position is also available as an internship.


Required Skills

  • A familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Avid, or similar editing program
  • Experience or education in film and video production and/or multimedia journalism
  • Solid ability to organize footage, properly label folders, and log any relevant data in the correct place
  • Experience with other Adobe programs such as After Effects, Illustrator, Prelude, and Photoshop are a plus
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Solid communication skills
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to use a camera/camcorder
  • Ability to take direction from a supervisor

Training


Mandatory training on Adobe Premiere Pro and basic editing techniques must be completed by all participants.


Schedule


Minimum two shifts per week. Scheduling can be flexible. Available times are M-Sat, 12pm-6pm.


Minimum Age Requirement


Available to individual applicants 16 years of age or older.
