RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) of Washtenaw County

  • 2 people are interested

This is a great opportunity to provide service to those who struggle with meeting their basic needs, such as food security. Volunteers love knowing that a couple of hours of their time each week can help folks with special needs meet their nutritional requirements.

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is seeking volunteers who are age 55+ to join our organization of folks who care about community service.

We currently need volunteers to assist with work in community kitchens, meal delivery programs, and food pantries. Opportunities are available every day of the week and most times of day, from day to evening.

Benefits of volunteering through RSVP include:
-Liability insurance that protects you in case of injury while you serve
-Volunteer recognition events throughout the year (big annual recognition event with raffles, giveaways, and awards. Other smaller events throughout the year.)
-Rewards for referring new volunteers to your station
-Quarterly Newsletter

Research shows when you volunteer you:
Live longer and report better health
Promote healthy physical activity
Help prevent isolation and depression
Lead to more friendships
Encourage involvement with people of all ages in your community
