Hi! We have a great team of about 3 volunteers writing and managing our grants now. All of us work full time and volunteer for ASG for free because we love supporting artists and giving them a fair wage. We could always use help with the various grant narratives and timelines that support our mission and the awesome artists we serve. In this year alone, we received over $86K in foundational support! So come be a part of our team and watch this small mighty organization grow thanks to your help.

Mission Statement

ASG is an exhibition and performance space dedicated to the exploration and presentation of immersive works. We provide extensive in-house resources and expertise that enable artists to promote intellectual and tangible artworks in a public platform. We showcase video and installation artworks, films, lectures and performances by innovative regional artists and thinkers whose work ignites critical dialogue.

Description

ASG envisions an Oakland where artists can make and experience art in a safe space with access to production tools and hands-on guidance, creating work that fuels critical dialogue in a time when it is desperately needed. ASG is a charitable, artist-run exhibition and performance space in West Oakland that prioritizes the exhibition of artwork that generally can’t be seen elsewhere - our mantra is "Install the Unimaginable." We provide extensive in-house resources and expertise that enable artists to create and promote intellectually engaging and immersive projects. We also strive to provide every artwork installed in ASG with a museum-quality environment; our exhibition space is impressive and meticulously maintained.
