Canyon Home Care & Hospice is looking for compassionate volunteers, and their furry friends, willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to patients and their families.
Serenity Hospice invites certified, friendly, and well-behaved pets (not just dogs!!) ~ and their humans to join our team of volunteers. Terminally ill patients enjoy the attention and unconditional love they feel from a four-legged friend... Pet visits can sometimes reach a patient in a way no one else can.
Hours and days are flexible ~ we are happy to work around your schedule, and starting with just 1 visit per week you can make all the difference in the world!
For more information, please contact Viviana Negron, Volunteer Coordinator at 602-216-2273; or email: vnegron@canyonhc.com
Thank you for all you do, it is truly appreciated, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!!

Hospice Care provides comfort, dignity, quality of life and time to those facing a life-limiting illness, such as heart disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, COPD, HIV/AIDS, cancer, dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. In addition to providing compassionate medical care and pain management, hospice care offers emotional and spiritual support to patients and their loved ones. Description
The word "Hospice" means, "a place of shelter for travelers on a difficult journey."
Hospice care is a team-oriented approach to expert medical care and pain management of the patient, and emotional and spiritual support for the patient's family and friends. The patient's wishes are always considered and respected. Hospice philosophy is based on the belief that patients have the right to die with dignity and without pain, while enjoying the highest quality of life possible. The focus is not on curative measures, but rather relief of symptoms. the patient and family are encouraged to participate in planning and performing the care, to the extent that they wish to do so. The Hospice team is there to care, instruct, educate and support the family.
