CoVid has impacted the lives of our patients and families significantly. Patients who would otherwise be in a nursing home are being cared for at home, and some families are exhausted and need a break. Visit with a patient in their home and provide a short break for their family. Socialize with them and share memories, play a card game or complete a crossword puzzle, read to them, or just provide a supportive presence while they rest. Be placed with a patient in your geographic area. (Areas we serve: Douglas, Franklin, Johnson, Linn, Miami, and Wyandotte counties in Kansas.) No direct patient care is required.

Mission Statement

Olathe Health is focused on improving the health of all individuals in the communities we serve by providing compassionate, quality healthcare in an environment of trust and collaboration.

Description

Olathe Health Ambassadors, what we like to call our volunteers, work in both clinical and non-clinical areas. Their talents are used at information desks, reception areas, patient registration, surgery family room, business offices, hospice care, and the Gift Shops - just to name a few. They also help with special projects such as Community Blood Drives and fundraising events.
