Lend a hand restoring our national park and celebrate public lands! The National Park Service and Mississippi Park Connection are restoring the land surrounding Coldwater Spring to create oak savanna, prairie, and wetland habitats. Volunteers will be planting native plants in the prairie, and trees and plants in a recently restored forest understory area to increase biodiversity and promote habitat for wildlife!
Coldwater Spring is located between Minnehaha Falls Regional Park and Historic Fort Snelling. The historic Coldwater spring house sits at its heart, bubbling away and bringing in the ducks.
A huge thanks to our friends at REI Co-op for supporting the event with t-shirts for participants and a light breakfast! We will provide gloves and all necessary tools and equipment. Come out and help us plant for the future!
Volunteers must be age 8 or older and registered. This is a rain or shine event. Contact our volunteer staff for more information: volunteer@parkconnection.org
