Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles is looking for volunteers who are FAST on the computer!
- Know how to switch back and forth between programs quickly?
- Know shortcut keys or right-click menus by heart?
- Are you a whiz on a tablet?
Every day we post pictures and descriptions of our inventory online. To our website and to other sites that post things for sale. When inventory sells or gets reduced in price, we have to update those posts in all those locations.
This is a great volunteer opportunity for anyone who enjoys working on the computer, perfecting a process, figuring out how to do something in the most simple and efficient way.
If you're interested, you'd be part of our growing Marketing Team and you'd work with either the Marketing Coordinator or the Promotions Coordinator. You'd get training, a desk to work from and a computer or tablet. Your work would be laid out for you and you'd be responsible to update forms reporting on what you got done.
Contact us today! We host new-volunteer orientations every Tuesday evening at 6 pm or by appointment for those who can't do Tuesday evenings. At your orientation, we'll set up your schedule!

Description
Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
