GCRM VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS FOR 2018 SPECIAL EVENT PREP** BELIEVE! ***Be Part of Making the Magic Happen!
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is a truly magical destination year-round, but during the Holiday Season, we take it to the next level with The Polar Express Train Ride!
The preparation and installation of this breathtaking display of holiday scenes depicted in Christmas lights and holiday decorations begins in August to ensure everything is in tip-top condition for the opening of The Polar Express Train Ride to our guests.
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is seeking energetic individuals who want to be part of making the magic happen. These are temporary, seasonal, volunteer positions beginning no later than September 11, 2018, and ending November 13, 2018.
GIFT WRAPPING
We are looking for motivated individuals to gift wrap boxes to be used for props and decorations, while using our supplies and instructions. Job requires ability to fold tissue and boxes, pull paper and cut from rolls, tie bows, and use scissors. This will be indoor work at a craft table, in a group environment
CHECKING CHRISTMAS LIGHT STRINGS
We are looking for motivated individuals who will perform functional checks of Christmas light strings while using our supplies and instructions. Job requires some light electrical work with Christmas lights. This will be indoor work at a craft table, in a group environment.
CHRISTMAS LIGHT DISPLAY INSTALLER
We are looking for motivated individuals who will perform installation of Christmas lights and other decorations while using our supplies and instructions. Job requires some light electrical work with Christmas lights. Installers handle a multitude of duties on a holiday decorating display job site. Duties may include executing the following installation techniques:

The Gold Coast Railroad Museum, Inc., is primarily a museum of Florida's rail heritage. Since there are other museums in other locations that deal primarily with local and regional heritage, the Gold Coast Railroad Museum limits it's collections to those objects and equipment that pertain to Florida's railroad heritage or are of National, International, or Educational significance.
Description
The Gold Coast Railroad Museum has three primary goals: 1. Preservation and restoration of historic railroad objects and equipment; 2. Display to the general public of historic railroad equipment and objects in order to heighten knowledge, education, and awareness of that public of the important role that railroads have played in Florida's (and the Nation's) history; 3. Operation of historic railroad equipment pursuant to the goals stated in (2) above.
