Apply to be a Homework Club volunteer! Cathedral Gardens, an EAH Housing property, is a nonprofit affordable housing unit located in downtown Oakland, CA. Children who live at the housing unit may have trouble concentrating on their homework and may require tutoring. This is a great opportunity for high school students to gain some experience as well as college students who specialize in Education, Child Development, etc. Responsibilities involve looking after children and teenagers (ages 5-12) and assisting them with homework for a little over an hour on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Monday & Wednesday: 3:30pm-4:45pm
Friday: 3pm-4pm
We can work with your schedule if you can only make one or two of those days. However, consistent and weekly commitment until the end of the semester or academic year is required. Note that all volunteers must go through a background check.
Contact the Resource Coordinator, Connie at conniem.chan@eahhousing.org if you are interested. Thank you!
