The Miracle Project is a theater film and expressive arts program for individuals with autism and other disabilities as well as their typically developing siblings and peers customized to positively impact the entire family unit. By focusing on the strengths rather than the deficits of autism The Miracle Project brings out the best in each participant whether they are verbal or non-verbal
with or without a disability. Through shared creative and positive emotional experiences friendships are made anxiety is eased and a dynamic supportive community replaces the sense of isolation many families often feel.
Each year students staff and volunteers create and perform in original musicals based on students’ preferred interests and ideas. Some participants once too shy and withdrawn to even walk into a room full of their peers have now performed in venues in front of hundreds including the Rose Bowl The Pantages Theatre Carnegie Hall and The United Nations.
