ORGANIZATION: The Arc Minnesota & Arc's Value Village

This stipend eligible position is for summer 2020 and includes a $1000 stipend payable in August or the utilization of work study if eligible. The Arc Minnesota promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, actively supporting them and their families in a lifetime of full inclusion and participation in their communities. The Minnesota Micro Grant Partnership offers modest grants to persons with disabilities to achieve person-centered goals around competitive employment, inclusive housing and community integration. This position supports the Micro Grants partnership team in all aspects of the Micro Grants Partnership.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Review, approve or deny grant requests; seek additional information if needed prior to decision making
  • Share recommendations of grant requests to team for accounting/tracking purposes
  • Notify applicants of grant status
  • Follow up with grant recipients to learn how grant has impacted their inclusion into the community; report findings to team
  • Take/request pictures of grant recipients for inclusion in report findings
  • Assist with outreach efforts where applicable
  • Survey grant recipients on how to improve processes
  • Offer suggestions for improving proposal templates, internal data tracking, workflow tracking/management, etc.
  • Other tasks/projects as requested or needs arise

Must be available 10-12 hours a week. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with evenings and weekends as schedule allows. An exit interview will also be conducted to gauge intern experience and to make recommendations for improvement. Includes a $1000 stipend payable in August or the utilization of work study if eligible.

Arc's Value Village accepts clothing, housewares, art, media, books & related items and sells those items to the community.
