Have you been trained as an End-of-Life Doula but don't have the opportunity to use those skills regularly?
Are you passionate about this topic, and would like to share your passion with other people who share your interest?
Do you want to make a difference for families all over the Chicagoland area by helping patients and their loved ones with a difficult transition?

We are looking for a trained End-of-Life doula to help make our Vigil volunteer program the best it can be. This volunteer would not only be utilizing their skills to help our patients and families through the end of life process, but would also ideally be able to help with developing and perhaps presenting an effective and impactful training for our vigil volunteers in order to make certain they had the skills and knowledge necessary to take part in a family's journey. This volunteer would have a leadership role in program creation and implementation.

We ask that volunteers with Kindred be able to make a 2-8 hour/month commitment for a minimum of one year. All volunteer positions require a Physical and two step TB test, a fingerprinting background check, and a drug screen - paid for by Kindred. .

This opportunity is specifically for those who have already been trained as an End-of-life Doula. For those interested in becoming vigil volunteers, we ask that one have some patient support experience in advance. Please check out some of Kindred's patient support volunteer opportunities on VolunteerMatch to see if one of them is a good fit for you!
