Volunteers are important members of the Hospice Care Team. They help hospice patients and families many ways such as offering companionship and listening, reading aloud, filling in to give family caregivers a break, delivering flowers, or shopping or running errands.
Volunteers visit a patient an average of once a week, for 2-4 hours (including driving time). The time commitment may fluctuate depending upon the patient’s needs and the volunteer’s availability.Begin self-study training any time OR attend classroom training:
Fall 2019 training dates: Tuesdays, October 1 - November 5, 1-5 p.m. Classroom training application deadline - Sept. 23, 2019
