Join The Arc of Multnomah-Clackamas this fall for a health and wellness program called Healthy Lifestyles. This unique curriculum is designed by and for young people who experience intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Our program provides knowledge and information about physical, mental, emotional, and social help, explores wellness topics, and support participants in setting and achieving personal health and wellness goals.
Co-facilitators will work with staff from The Arc as well as staff from OHSU to run engaging and hands-on instruction and conversation among our group of participants. Activities may include trying a new exercise program, practicing relaxation activities like yoga, or learning how maintain healthy friendship.
Co-teachers should be positive, friendly, and interested in supporting a wonderful group of folks in setting goals, learning skills, and building friendships. We are looking for a variety of folks with unique skills and backgrounds -- no experience required and training provided! This would be a great opportunity to folks in the social work, special education, or health and wellness field, though it would be a rewarding experience for all!
