Maple Farm Sanctuary (MFS), a sanctuary for rescued farm animals located in Mendon, Massachusetts, is looking for volunteers to help with on and off-site events.
Volunteer duties may include the following:
- helping plan and coordinate events for MFS
- tabling at local vegetarian food festivals and similar events
- volunteering at MFS potlucks, performances, and other events
- contacting companies to obtain raffle items for MFS events
- contacting local companies about hosting MFS events
- helping brainstorm more event ideas!
Volunteers will be able to sign up to help with events as their availability allows, whether you want to table occasionally or get more involved. For interested volunteers, we are also in the process of putting together a committee who can meet regularly to help plan events.

Maple Farm Sanctuary is an animal sanctuary providing lifelong homes for abused, abandoned and unwanted farmed animals while promoting veganism and respect for all life through public information. Maple Farm Sanctuary has taken in a fraction of the billions of farmed animals that are bought, sold, tormented and slaughtered by the meat, dairy and fur industries.
Description
Located about an hour outside of Boston, Maple Farm Sanctuary provides a home for over 100 rescued animals including cows, pigs, chickens, goats, llamas, ducks and geese.
The organization is run by the sanctuary co-founders Jim and Cheri Vandersluis assisted by many volunteers. Some of the volunteer duties involve working with the animals directly and some do not.
Public and private tours are offered to educate the public about having compassion for animals and adopting a vegan lifestyle.
