It's hard to start thinking about winter now, but it's not too far around the corner! We are looking for some reliable community members willing to be 'Snow Patrol' for our Passage House program. Passage House is our transitional living program for pregnant or parenting teens and their children. It is a residential home located in east Anchorage, and we need help keeping up with clearing the sidewalk and driveway of snow. This could be an individual or team who would follow up after each snowfall. This would make the home much safer for our young mothers and their little ones, staff, and neighbors.
About Covenant House Alaska
755 A Street, Anchorage, AK 99501, US
We who recognize God's providence and fidelity to his people are dedicated to living out his covenant among ourselves and those children we serve, with absolute respect and unconditional love. That commitment calls us to serve suffering children of the street, and to protect and safeguard all children. Just as Christ in his humanity is the visible sign of God's presence among his people, so our efforts together in the covenant community are a visible sign that effects the presence of God, working through the Holy Spirit among ourselves and our kids.
Covenant House Alaska is a life-line from the streets for homeless, runaway and at-risk youth in Anchroage. Our programs include: *A Crisis Center providing immediate care and sanctuary for youth ages 13-20 *A Drop In Center providing outreach and walk-in services to support youth in marginal living situations *A Transitional Living Program helping youth transition from homelessness to independent living *Workforce Development providing youth educational and employment support as well as opportunities to obtain jobs.
We'll work with your schedule.
