Seeking a volunteer experienced in sewing and interested in monitoring a weekly course for refugee women. The volunteer will arrive half an hour before the class starts to set up a few sewing machines, be available throughout the class to provide assistance to each sewing participant as needed, and clean up at the end of class. The class will be mainly focused on English language learning for women who are taking LSS-SW's Monday morning sewing class.
Volunteer should be comfortable using sewing machines, communicating with people who have varying levels of English fluency, and providing some instruction as needed. Volunteer will be required to complete an online application, obtain a background check, provide two references, and attend an orientation before beginning volunteer service.
