Mission Statement

Our mission at Healing Action is that, "We are committed to combating commercial sexual exploitation and sex-trafficking through a multi-system approach of creating awareness by sharing our experience/strength/hope with others, advocacy with/on behalf of survivors for programs and services needed to empower them, and Healing Action to create spaces where we all can thrive".

Description

Healing Action has been established for 2 years while being the only provider of peer-led, clinical support in the St. Louis region. The primary focus of the work at Healing Action is to help individuals who have survived commercial sexual exploitation to heal and rebuild their lives on their own terms. We do this through a creative array of client-centered, trauma-informed therapeutic work, both individual and group based. Survivors lead the therapeutic force - this is what makes Healing Action unique in the state of Missouri and from other agencies doing similar work. Therapeutic services are facilitated and led by survivors who have forged their own path out of "the life" and through the acquisition of the training, education, and credentials worthy of this calling. Due to the education and clinical experience of our founder all services, peer or otherwise, are rooted in evidence-based trauma-informed care.
