Volunteers for the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program provide FREE tax preparation services for senior citizens and others in Wayne County, NY.
Tax Preparers: Are trained by the IRS to prepare tax returns for customers; Serve flexible hours at their convenience; Have use of a laptop, cell phone and printer during tax season; Receive mileage reimbursement for travel to/from their service sites.
Tax Greeters: Are trained by the IRS; Serve with a Tax Preparer; Greet customers before their tax preparation appointment to ensure all paperwork is organized and in place; Receive mileage reimbursement for travel to/from their service sites.
All volunteers are invited to a Recognition Luncheon upon conclusion of the tax preparation season.

Wayne County Action Program, Inc. is a community action agency established in 1966. We offer a variety of services for individuals and families.
We also provide volunteer opportunities and services through the Corporation for National and Community Service, including the AmeriCorps Senior: 'Foster Grandparent Program' and 'Retired/Senior Volunteer Program'. We also administer the Finger Lakes Living Healthy AmeriCorps program.
