Volunteers for this opportunity provide transportation for homebound seniors and veterans of any age to help them get to and from medical appointments. We have two options for them to do this task.
Use their own vehicle: They are compensated for mileage from their home and back and throughout the transport, Supplemental liability insurance is provided.
Use our Agency van: This vehicle has safety shields between the front and passenger sections to provide protection from transmission of COVID-19 and other transmittable illnesses.
Volunteers serve as often as they like, once a month, once a week. All transports are scheduled through our office.
Transport is provided free for all passengers.
Volunteers must be at 55 years of age to enroll.

Wayne County Action Program, Inc. is a community action agency established in 1966. We offer a variety of services for individuals and families.
We also provide volunteer opportunities and services through the Corporation for National and Community Service, including the AmeriCorps Senior: 'Foster Grandparent Program' and 'Retired/Senior Volunteer Program'. We also administer the Finger Lakes Living Healthy AmeriCorps program.
