Would you like to read your favorite literature with someone who loves books but cannot read due to a limiting illness? Activities like this are mutually life affirming and rewarding.
Hospice volunteering is a way to make an impact for families. Many individuals day in and day out are looking forward to meeting a volunteer who would be willing to read to them or play music due to the limiting illness they face. By volunteering you may allow family caregivers time away so they may have quality time with their loved ones. All training sufficient for this task is provided by our staff volunteer coordinator. Please inquire if you are interested in this excellent opportunity for compassionate care and personal growth!

Mission Statement
For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.
Description
Hospice care is not just for the patient. It also provides emotional support for the entire family. Hospice care includes a team of doctors, nurses, social worker, home health aide, chaplain and trained volunteers. This team works together focusing on the patient's needs, whether it be physical, psychological or spiritual. Most hospice volunteers are trained to relieve primary caregivers by helping with household chores, sitting with patients or running errands for them. The most improtant task, however, is their ability to be good listeners. Hospice volunteers also provide administrative assistance to the hospice care team by working in the office.
