Join us as we host The North Area Bocce Competitions on August 25th at Discovery Grove Park!

Volunteers will be onsite to support our AMAZING Utah Bocce Athletes & the event in Event Setup, Registration, Officiating, Award Distribution and Event Teardown. Your support as a volunteer is vital to the success of these Games.

Tentative event schedule - subject to change :

  • 7:00 AM Volunteers Check-In
  • 8:00 AM set up bocce courts
  • 9:00 AM coach’s registration, officiating volunteers registration
  • 9:15 AM coach’s meeting/officiating volunteer training
  • 9:30 AM athlete registration
  • 10:00 AM competition starts
  • 11:00 AM competition starts
  • 1:00 PM competition ends
  • :15 min after competition ends, medals ceremony begins (approx. 25-30 min)
  • 2:00 PM tear-down
  • 3:00 PM Event ends

The mission of Special Olympics Utah is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Special Olympics Utah is made up of passionate, committed individuals from every walk of life, who recognize the value and unique gifts of people with intellectual disabilities. And who, together, share the common belief in dignity, equality and opportunity for ALL people. Special Olympics Utah involves 2,300 athletes, 5,000 volunteers, 300,000 volunteer hours each year and 16 Olympic-type sports.
