The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (AALDC) is a Section 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The organization's mission is to further economic development, historic preservation, and cultural enrichment in the greater Atlantic Avenue area. The AALDC provides information, advocacy, produces events and projects that promote economic growth and vitality, for the preservation and development in downtown Brooklyn and neighboring communities.

Volunteer Supervisor: Executive Director

Volunteer Summary:

Volunteers will assist the organization with administrative duties and event planning activities including clerical work and special events assistance. Volunteers are expected to perform a lot of canvassing, business outreach and deliveries of event planning documents.
Volunteers are particularly needed on the event day, Sunday, September 23, 2018.
We may have other volunteer opportunities end of August and throughout September to assist in preparing for the event date.

Requirements:

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Very detail oriented and organized

* Quick learner

* Self-starter

* Solid writing skills

* College student or college graduate preferred; if you are a high school student the hours and days may be negotiable but you must be a Junior or Senior, provide a copy of your work certificate, report card and proof of completion of a job readiness program or previous work/internship experience
