Students look forward to special attention in small groups, to read more fluently, to learn to understand better, to learn to recognize word meaning through context and word structure, and or similar skills. Each group is a little different.

Training is provided for group leaders.

Volunteers come one day per week. The choices are:

TThF 10:30-11:30 am
Th 12:30-3:00 pm

Classes are taught by licensed teachers.

Help adults acquire the skills, and provide the support, to pursue education and employment goals.

Description

Minneapolis Adult Education provides free classes in ESL, reading, writing, math, basic computer skills, and transition to work and college. Classes are available in the morning, afternoon, and evening. We are part of Minneapolis Community Education, Minneapolis Public Schools.

Volunteers participate once an week, for an hour or more depending on the class. We ask for a commitment of 3 months. Service learning has a different minimum.
