Become a citizen monitor and help protect lakes in Minnesota! Healthy lakes are essential to Minnesota's economy and way of life. Do you live on a lake or visit one frequently? Do you have access to watercraft such as a motorized boat, canoe or kayak? If so, we are looking for people just like you to take water clarity readings on a lake of your choice each summer. No prior experience is necessary. Just a desire to help your local lake.
The sampling season is May-September each year. Water clarity readings are quick and easy (about 1/2 hour every other week) and provide valuable data on the health of a lake.
Training is available online and equipment is provided at no cost. We have openings on lakes all across the state. Contact us today!
