Help feed your neighbors in need! Join an experienced team of volunteers and staff to help with The Food Depot's Mobile Food Pantry distribution in Los Alamos. Volunteers help prepare and distribute a variety of produce, bread, dairy, and non-perishable food items to over 100 recipients each month. Distributions take place the 4th Friday of every month, from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM. We are looking for a few volunteers to join the team on a regular basis.
Volunteers arrive at 10:15 for setup, then distribute food between 10:30-12:00 p.m. You will need to be comfortable lifting, bending, and working in an outside environment (the parking lot in front of the Immaculate Heart of Mary).

As the food bank for nine counties, The Food Depot provides food to nearly 40,000 people experiencing hunger annually. Over 35 % of hunger needs are addressed through direct service programs operated by The Food Depot. The majority (65%) of The Food Depot’s hunger relief services involves food distribution to over 81 nonprofit agencies through 145 locations including food pantries, meal programs, shelters, youth programs, shelters, and senior centers. The Food Depot provides more than 430,000 meals to people in need - the most vulnerable of our community - children, seniors, working families and those in ill health.
