Showers of Blessing provides Radical Hospitality and hot showers on Wheels to houseless neighbors in Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Isla Vista, CA. We provide showers at 7 locations throughout the week (no weekends). We are looking for compassionate volunteers to welcome and sign in our guests and volunteers, hand out hygiene items, assist with shower set up and cleaning, wash towels, provide lunches, and drive our 3/4 ton van with shower trailer attached. Volunteers will work approximately 2.5 hours at any location.

Mission Statement
The Showers of Blessing engages the compassion and volunteer spirit of both housed and houseless residents of South Santa Barbara County in the operation of a mobile shower trailer to promote health and wellness, build avenues to employment, and restore dignity to our most vulnerable neighbors.
Description
The Showers of Blessing operates a shower trailer equipped with two private bathrooms, which is driven to seven sites every week. We provide free hot showers, new socks, new underwear, hygiene items, clean clothing and limited laundry service at all of our sites. In the process we provide new hope and dignity to all of our guests.
Last year we provided 5,000 showers. This year we will provide over 6,500 showers.
At the Showers of Blessing, we take a holistic approach to supporting our community members without permanent housing. We partner with local churches, communities, and agencies to provide immediate solutions with the ultimate goal of providing a safe environment where individuals can be refreshed, cleansed, fed, and equipped with clean clothing. We build communities of support at each of our shower sites. Partners include the United Way and affiliate agencies, Santa Barbara Public Health, Doctors without Walls, St. Vincent de Paul, the Food Bank, AmeriCorps, New Beginnings and Safe Parking program, and multiple faith based organizations.
