About

We need all hands on deck to help with organizing our St Patrick's Day Parade and another 15 different Irish Week events including Irish Festival Seattle. We need people to carry banners in the parade, be parade marshals, help out with the children's craft area, coordinate speakers and guests, and many other activities. See a full listing of Irish Week events at www.IrishWeek.org. We need volunteers to help with all of them.

You can volunteer for a few hours or a few days, for specific events, or just for whatever needs to be done when you arrive!

Prior to Irish Festival

Envelope Stuffers: Volunteers are needed to help prepare mailers that will be sent out to those who have expressed interest in attending the Irish Festival in Seattle. This event is held at F.X. McCrory’s in Seattle on Friday, February 24th from 6pm to 8pm.

Display Assistant: A volunteer is needed to create signs with times and room numbers to direct those attending seminars. In addition, the display assistant will help with the construction and layout of a display depicting historical panels. Text and pictures will be provided, but help with the layout/assembly will be needed and possibly construction of wood display. This volunteer will be producing the signs and display prior to the Irish Festival. Due date is Friday, March 3rd for completed materials.

Soda Bread Making and Baking Demonstration: Volunteers are needed to help with setting up tables, cleaning and monitoring activities during event. Persons with food handling experience would be preferred but are not required. Hours these volunteers are needed are Saturday, February 25th from noon to 6:00pm.

Soda Bread Contest: Volunteers are needed to help with preparing for the soda bread contest as well as setting up decorations and registration on the day of the event. Duties include planning decorations, setting up decorations, preparing tags and registration forms, and onsite registration, selling buttons, crowd control, and assisting with tagging contestants and tabulating results. Hours these volunteers are needed are Saturday, March 4th from 11am to 4:00pm as well as prior to event. Event is held at T.S. McHugh’s Restaurant in Seattle.


Irish Festival

Children’s Activities: Volunteers are needed to help kids with arts and crafts at the Children’s Activity Booth. Must like to work with children, have patience with young and old alike, and be able to explain steps to making a craft project to all types of people. Some setup and breakdown of tables and chairs may be required. Hours volunteers are needed are Saturday, March 11 th , 11:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday, March 12 th , 9:30am - 6:00pm.

Soda Bread Baking Demonstration: Volunteers are needed to help with setting up tables, cleaning and monitoring activities during event. St. Patrick’s Day Parade: Volunteers are needed to hold banners and help marshal the annual ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE in Seattle.

MC/Announcer: A volunteer is needed who can MC Irish Festival performances on the center stage. The MC needs to have a loud, easy to understand voice. MC will check in with stage manager to get the introduction information. Hours this volunteer is needed is Saturday, March 11 th , 11:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday, March 12 th , 9:30am - 6:00pm.

Vendor Assistant: A volunteer is needed to help festival vendors find their table, answer questions, and watch the vendor's booth for them while they take a break or get a cup of coffee. Hours this volunteer is needed is Saturday, March 11 th , 11:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday, March 12 th , 9:30am - 6:00pm.

Seminar Assistant : A volunteer is needed to help direct speakers and exhibitors, as well as assist in their set-up. Help with speaker set-up may range from technical assistance with projectors to loading in materials from vehicles. Hours this volunteer is needed is Saturday, March 11 th , 11:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday, March 12 th , 9:30am - 6:00pm.
