Volunteers needed for St Patrick's Day and Irish Week events

We need all hands on deck to help with organizing our St Patrick's Day Parade and all the different Irish Week events including Irish Festival Seattle. We need people to carry banners in the parade, be parade marshals, help out with the children's craft area, and many other activities. See a full listing of Irish Week events at www.IrishWeek.org. We need volunteers to help with all of them.

You can volunteer for a few hours or a few days, for specific events, or just for whatever needs to be done when you arrive!

Prior to the Irish Festival

Envelope Stuffers: Volunteers are needed to help prepare mailers. Date and time TBD.

Soda Bread Contest: Volunteers are needed to help with preparing for the soda bread contest as well as setting up decorations and registration on the day of the event. Duties include planning decorations, setting up decorations, preparing tags and registration forms, and onsite registration, selling buttons, crowd control, and assisting with tagging contestants and tabulating results. Date and time TBD.

Vendor Load-In Assistant: A volunteer is needed to help festival vendors load in to the Seattle Center and set up booths. Hours are in the evening of Friday, March 13th, about 3:30PM-6:30PM

During the Irish Festival

ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE: Volunteers are needed to hold banners, set up and collect barricades, and help marshal the annual ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE in Seattle. Hours are Wednesday March 11 at 6PM for set-up. and Saturday, March 14th, 2:30-3:30PM for removing the barricades. The Parade steps off Saturday, March 14 at 12:30 PM 4th Avenue at James Street.

Children’s Activities: Volunteers are needed to help kids with arts and crafts at the Children’s Activity Booth. Must like to work with children, have patience with young and old alike, and be able to explain steps to making a craft project to all types of people. Some setup and breakdown of tables and chairs may be required. Hours are Saturday, March 14th, 11:00AM - 6:00PM and Sunday, March 15th, 9:30AM - 6:00PM.

Vendor Assistant: A volunteer is needed to help direct speakers and exhibitors, as well as assist in their set-up. Help with speaker setup may range from technical assistance with projectors to loading in materials from vehicles. Hours are Saturday, March 14th, 11:00am - 6:00pm and Sunday, March 15th, 9:30am - 6:00pm.
