ORGANIZATION: Neighborhood Youth Association (NYA)

  • 2 people are interested

Neighborhood Youth Association is a non profit program for low income and at risk youth. We provide academic skill building and leadership development after school in Venice for students in grades 1-12.

We are seeking a few tutors to help our students with Spanish, both at the middle and high school level. Middle school tutors need a working knowledge of Spanish, and high school tutors will help our students in AP Spanish, especially literature, text-based homework and high level grammar. Most of our students are native Spanish speakers, but need help with grammar and writing.

Our program runs from 4-7 pm, Monday-Thursday. We ask volunteers to commit at least 1 hour a week within that time frame. Tutors would work one on one or in a very small group with students.

If you have Spanish language skills, please consider tutoring this very deserving group of kids!
