The American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter needs help with coordinating and managing our educational disaster preparedness programs. For 10 hours or less per month, you can help us make our Northern Nevada community better prepared for disasters before they strike.
The Preparedness Division provides appropriate preparedness programming within a community to assist community members to prepare for home fires and other disasters. This position is responsible for the overall execution of preparedness programming within Northern Nevada, including:
1. Overseeing overall preparedness programming, ensuring current guidance is observed
2. Ensuring effective planning for preparedness programming
3. Ensuring adequate supplies for preparedness programming
4. Ensuring adequate partnerships are pre-identified to address preparedness programming needs as identified in chapter/territory plans
5. Coordinating preparedness operational plans
6. Managing expectations around preparedness capability, capacity and reporting
7. Building preparedness capacity and capability through partnership, recruitment, training and mentoring
8. Serving as a subject matter expert in preparedness program guidance and tools
