OPAS offers free informal support services for the seniors of Ahwatukee and their caregivers to enable them to stay independent at home. Services are provided by volunteers who care about their community and their neighbors.
Services provided include transportation, shopping and errands, friendly visiting and phoning, household assistance, basic business help and caregiver relief. Volunteers do not have to commit to a specific day to work they only commit to appointments that suit their schedule. The majority of our volunteer opportunities are Monday to Friday during the day, but we do have some assignments for the weekend. Volunteer drivers must be over 21 years.

OPAS aims to meet the needs of the growing senior population in Ahwatukee with the goal of enabling seniors to maintain independent living in their own homes.
Description
OPAS provides volunteer assistance to help Ahwatukee seniors remain in their own homes as independently as possible. Volunteer services include: transportation, shopping & errands, caregiver relief, friendly visiting & phoning, basic business help, and minor home repairs. OPAS also provides information & referral. All services are provided free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted.
