Help residents to better understand Hispanic culture and bring information about resourceful programs and services relevant to the attendees. The event is on Saturday, September 22 from 10am to 5pm. See below for the help that is needed. Stay for the whole day or pick a shift depending on your schedule. We can work with your schedule! Minimum age to volunteer is 14. Sign up at nccde.org/volunteer.
The 2018 Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration's goal is to celebrate and honor all cultures in our rich multicultural society. The event will bring together people of all backgrounds to pursue a better understanding of this ethnic group within itself and within other ethnic and demographics groups.
This wonderful event combines Hispanic traditional ceremonies, music and live dance performances, food, beverages with educational activities, multicultural story time, and informational booths!
Stay the whole day or pick from the following shifts. Let us know in the notes section, which shift and task you would prefer to help with.
10:00 am to 12:00 pm:
- Set up spaces in the library
- Vendor registration
- Floater/Information/Guide
12:00 to 2:00 pm:
- Greet attendees
- Floater/Information/Guide
- Help to get vendors and patrons to the Black Box Theater
- Count attendees
- Make sure vendors breakout on time and set up multipurpose room for overflow for the refreshments
2:00 to 5:00 pm:
- Greet attendees
- Floater/Information/Guide
- Count attendees
- Clean up
- Greet special guest and help them to find their Black Box Theater and their spot
