Volunteer Associate Art Director for FACTR:

  1. to assist agency Art director to achieve the agency's objectives in utilizing the arts to promote the resilience of refugees and immigrants, to showcase the talents of such newcomers to the community and to provide them with encouragement and recognition, specifically
    • to assist Art Director in the creation of a web-site gallery
    • to Assist art Director in the videotaping of agency cultural programs, such as in the Mindful Aging Project, Family Story Book Project and Multi C's social and emotional learning curriculum for immigrant children and TEA (Theatre for Empowerment and Advocacy)
    • to assist in the exhibition of Art works on behalf of Agency's Footprints Guild members
    • Assists in the promotion of agency's art activities.

Description

The specific purpose of this corporation is for service, research and training:

  1. To provide counseling, psycho- educational services and cultural awareness programs for newcomer families and their children that is respectful of ethnic values and diverse views, including State Laws pertaining to Child Protection, Domestic Violence, Educational, Immigration and other areas.
  2. To provide a setting for professionals who work with stressed families in newcomer and other circumstances to gain knowledge and skills to help them be effective in their work.
  3. To develop a knowledge base for dissemination of practices, methods and concepts for use in the broad mental health and Social Services field.
