Math Homework Assistant

Are you good at math (as well as enjoy it!) and willing to share your talent?
Come help out local students in grades 3-8 afterschool in our Homework Center, assisting them in completing math assignments and building their self-confidence in developing new math skills. Optional to engage students who do not have homework (or who need a break) in fun math games.
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
- Must enjoy working with children and K-8th grade-level students. Volunteers need to be flexible and have a positive attitude when working with children.
- An intermediate to high skill level in common core math is required.
- Previous tutoring experience is a plus, but not required. Good communication skills are!
- Applicants 18 years of age and older must pass screening process which includes a criminal background check. This process can take two to six weeks.
Time Commitment Needed: 2-4 hours a week during our Homework Center hours. These are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 3:00 - 5:00 PM and Wednesday 2:00 - 5:00 PM.
