In our continual efforts to improve the experience of our filmmaker guests, we are seeking well-organized individuals to join the Guest Services team at the Guest Check In table at the Mill Valley Filmmaker Lounge. During the festival, you will be stationed at the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley where you will greet and welcome arriving filmmakers and other special guests. Your role will set the tone for their time with the festival.
This is a seasonal, unpaid volunteer position that will include pre-festival training in late September. During the festival, you will work a minimum of two 5-hour shifts (12-5PM) between October 4th and 13th.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet arriving filmmakers and provide filmmaker welcome packets
- Offer recommendations (as needed) to local restaurants and eateries
- Answer general questions about the festival and the local area
- Troubleshoot filmmaker concerns and communicate any outstanding issues to their Guest Services contact
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Customer service, reception or hospitality experience is preferred
- Possess a positive, upbeat attitude!
- Knowledge and enthusiasm of Mill Valley Film Festival and the local area are a plus!
- Must be comfortable using a laptop computer
- Familiar with Gmail, GChat and/or Google Forms
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to troubleshoot guest concerns

Welcome to the 40th Mill Valley Film Festival! Every October more than 500 dedicated volunteers join in our efforts to celebrate and promote film as art and education. We showcase over 200 independent and international films and events in one of the most beautiful parts in the Bay Area.
