Fight Suicide - Volunteer for the Out of the Darkness Walk

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

We are looking for day of volunteers. The Santa Barbara walk is at Leadbetter Beach on Sunday, 9/9 - during suicide prevention week. Details of the walk can be found www.afsp.org/santabarbara .

Here are the activities volunteers are needed for:

1. Set Up/Clean up (General)
2. AFSP/Chapter/Store Areas (Set Up and Staff)
3. Parking Lot (Monitor)
4. Bead Table (Set Up and Staff)
5. Activity Table (Set Up and Staff)
6. Route Support
7. Accounting
8. Registration
9. Resource Fair
10. Water/Granola Bars/Water on Route

A commitment of just a few hours would be appreciated. Set up starts as early as 6:00 am until approximately 7:30; we need people at registration from 7:30 to 9:30am and along the route from approximately 8:30 to about 11:00am; cleanup starts at 11 to 11:30 am until 12 or 12:30pm.
