Greetings!
At STAR, we provide forensic exams, crisis counseling, prevention education and a 24-hour crisis hotline free of charge, to sexual assault victims, their families and the communities of Autauga, Butler, Crenshaw, Dallas, Elmore, Lowndes, Montgomery, Perry and Wilcox counties. The goal of the STAR program is to promote healing for those who have been traumatized by sexual assault whether they are the victim, a significant other or family member.
Wouldn’t you like to help us make a difference? We need people like your counseling students and campus volunteers, just volunteers period, to donate time, energy, and experience in a variety of areas. Specifically we are in dire need of victim advocates at this time with flexible schedules. As an advocate there will be direct client contact that can be counted toward required internship or community service hours. Here at STAR we do our best to care for our community and we would deeply appreciate any support you can provide us.
Sexual assault happens every day and while prevention is our objective we need to support those who have been victimized and help them on their road to recovery. We offer you and your organization the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of sexual assault survivors and their families.
In the spirit of generosity and community support, please consider providing this opportunity for service as an option for your students and volunteers.
Thank you for your consideration.
Kind Regards,
