Our Northwest Ohio Area Team is currently in need of a host family for Thilo from Germany. The placement deadline for Thilo is August 30th, he will arrive in his host community on Sept. 12th and live with his host family for the school year (end of June).

Thilo (15yo) from Germany - Thilo's parents and friends say he is outgoing, helpful, diplomatic, and a good listener. He's accustomed to spending a lot of time with his family. They often go hiking, cook together, watch TV, or spend hours talking. He has one older sister and the only arguments they have are about who ate the last piece of chocolate! Thilo helps out at home by cooking, doing dishes, and helping with grocery shopping. He currently practices Judo, but would love to play a team sport in the USA! One of his favorite hobbies is photography and he's thinking about becoming a photojournalist in the future.

Please contact rhayes@afsusa.org ASAP to find out if your school is currently enrolling exchange students! For answers to frequently asked questions about hosting, visit https://www.afsusa.org/host-family/faq/.

Description

More than 70 years ago, AFS was founded by WWI volunteer ambulance drivers as a means for creating a more just and peaceful world through greater intercultural understanding. They believed that young people could create real change by broadening their horizons and learning more about the diverse world in which they live. Today, this mission is more important than ever.
