Do you enjoy working with children? Are you looking to make an impact in the life of a child? If you answered yes to either of these questions, this is the opportunity for you! SOY Pittsburgh After School is the Latino Community Center's bilingual after school program, located at Beechwood Elementary School.Program goals include academic advancement, cultural empowerment, and social-emotional development. We are looking for committed, culturally sensitive tutors who are interested in working with our kindergarten through fifth grade students on their homework and academics during the after school program, which takes place from 3:00-6:00 daily (tutoring time, specifically, is between 3:30-5:00 Mon-Thurs). We ask that tutors commit to coming at least once a week, for 45 minutes to an hour.
In order to tutor, we do require that you obtain your clearances: PA Child Abuse History, PA Criminal History Check, and FBI fingerprinting.

Description
The Latino Community Center is a small, but growing, nonprofit organization that was established as a 501(c)3 in April of 2017. The LCC was established in response to the needs of the growing population of Latinos in Allegheny County, and the needs and desires expressed within this community for supports within and around education, community resources, newcomer support, and more. Programming at the LCC includes bilingual after school programs, high school college and career readiness programs, a Welcome Hub for newcomers, community engagement events, connection to local resources, a "free store" located within the LCC, and more. The Latino Community Center, through all that it does, strives to ensure that all Latinos in Allegheny County are valued and have equal and equitable access.
