Volunteer needed to become familiar with Canon Hospice staff and to answer phone at least once a week for 2 to 4 hours. Other minimal duties may be asked of the volunteer (phone duties, making simple calls, light paperwork type duties. Hours and the day(s) are flexible and this actually will be an ongoing volunteer job, after Canon Hospice relocates to a new facility in the metro-New Orleans area.

Canon Hospice is dedicated to helping patients and families accept terminal illness positively and resourcefully, to preserve dignity, and to endure the challenges that are accompanied at this critical time of life. We are always mindful of the great privilege that we are granted through our hospice ministry to compassion, respect, sensitivity, hope and love. Care is provided by a team of highly skilled professionals. Our goals is to allow our patients to live each day to the fullest and enjoy their time with family and friends. We are committed to meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients and their families.
