Assist Adults with Disabilities and/or Memory Loss

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is seeking volunteers to help a out at a local adult day programs that serve clients who have cognitive, physical, or mental disabilities and/or Alzheimers/dementia.

Purpose: Assist staff implement daily programming (crafts, games, activities). Be a companion to less socially active clients who could use a friend.

Qualifications: Polite and friendly, helpful attitude, patient, is willing to be trained. No experience required.

Timeframe: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. Ongoing. Pick one or more days, or half-days, to volunteer each week or month. Take time off for vacations and long weekends- enjoy your retirement! Just let staff know ahead of time that you will be gone.

Location of work: Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor.
