"Chalk up" some volunteer hours by helping out at ChalkFest at Reston Town Center 2018, sponsored by the Public Art Reston and Reston Town Center.
Saturday, September 15, 2018 (3 - 4 hour shifts)
Assist with one of the following:
- Set Up - 7:00 am to 7:30 am
- Registration/ hand out goodie bags - 7:30 am - 5:30 pm (Registration: 4 - 6 person/shift) (Hand out goodie bags: 2 persons/shift)
- Walk participants to their square - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Requires walking - wear comfortable shoes) (3 - 4 persons/shift)
- Walk around site to direct people to registration table - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (2 persons/shift)
- Photographers - 8 :00 am - 6:00 pm. We will need photos of the award winning drawings by the end of day. (1 person/shift)
- Take down - 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm (2 persons for 1 hour shift)

Description
Public Art Reston works with community organizations and developers to commission permanent and temporary public art in Reston. Public Art Reston was founded in 2007 and is the first unincorporated community in the United States to have adopted a public art master plan - the "Public Art Master Plan for Reston". Public Art Reston also offers artists talks, documentary public art film screenings, community engagement activities.
